Alberta Circular Plastics Day

I’ve been responsible for designing and producing all printed materials for APRA’s annual Alberta Circular Plastics Day (ACPD) event. This includes name tags, lanyards, tent cards, directional signage, and other on‑site collateral.

I also attended their VIP event and the main event to assist with event set-up, registration and photography.

Keeping up with the Updates

I kept the audience informed as ACPD approached by increasing the frequency and visibility of our communications. I regularly posted and re‑posted key updates to build momentum, spark interest, and ensure potential attendees had the information they needed to register. Across newsletters, website updates, and social posts, the goal was to highlight the scale and importance of Alberta Plastics Recycling Association’s biggest annual event while keeping the messaging clear, timely, and consistent.

During the event itself, I provided real‑time coverage to keep attendees and online followers connected to what was happening throughout the venue. I shared updates on ongoing sessions, showcased student poster reviews, highlighted networking moments, and captured candid activity, whether people were enjoying the food, engaging with exhibitors, or listening to speakers. This live content helped create an immersive experience for those attending in person and those following along online.

Wedding Day

Getting married is one of the most meaningful milestones in anyone’s life, and I wanted our wedding day to feel special not only for my husband and me, but also for the friends and family who have supported us over the years.

Planning a one‑day event of this scale came with its challenges, but it was a process I was genuinely excited to take on. I had wonderful help from family with décor preparation, while I focused on the logistics, timelines, coordination, setup, and making sure every detail came together smoothly.

Budget & Details

I approached the wedding as a full event‑coordination project, starting with a clear budget and a market scan of venues, catering options, and rental costs to determine what was feasible. Once the ceremony and reception locations were booked, I established the event timeline and communicated key details to family and friends so everyone involved had clarity early in the process. Drawing on my background in print and illustration, I designed and prepared all invitations and event signage to create a cohesive visual identity for the day.

As planning progressed, I built out the operational framework that would make the event run smoothly. This included creating detailed setup maps for both venues, assigning roles for setup and take‑down, coordinating speech timing and content, and managing the many small logistical decisions that contribute to a seamless guest experience.

The result was a well‑executed, highly organized event supported by thorough planning, strong communication, and collaborative coordination with family and friends.

Meet & Greet
with Rebecca Schulz

I assisted in organizing a post‑class meet‑and‑greet with Rebecca Schulz, coordinating both the event logistics and the communication materials needed to promote it. I developed the event schedule, planned the layout of tables and seating, and ensured the space was arranged to support smooth flow and meaningful conversations.

To raise awareness among parents at the West 85th Fueling Brains campus, I designed a full set of promotional materials, including social media posts, TV signage, and printed posters. Each piece was created to align with the campus’s visual identity while clearly communicating the purpose and importance of the event—discussing the future of children’s education in Alberta.

Working as a Team

I coordinated closely with my manager to make sure we had enough volunteers to handle setup, food service, and general support during the event. Because I had limited access to staff emails, organizing availability and assigning roles was a challenge, so I built a clear plan for who was needed where and communicated updates as efficiently as possible.

To streamline setup on the day of the event, I printed reference signage and placed it throughout the meeting room. This allowed volunteers to see exactly how each area should look without needing constant direction, which kept the setup process organized and reduced confusion. The system worked well, and once everything was in place, the rest of the event ran smoothly.
